Story: Fred Emney is a ruling Count who has lost his memory and
ended up as a musician playing at a Mediterranean café. Some wily plotters, seeing his resemblance to the “missing” king, persuade him to impersonate his “real” self, and return to his kingdom and his wife nominally as an imposter. The songs were mainly given to Eve Lister and Dickie Henderson and Shani Wallis were the juvenile romantic interest.

Notes: This was expected to follow the Fred Emney/Austin
Melford hit show “Blue for a Boy” and be another success. It
flopped, and managed just 26 performances.

1 Happy as a King peut-être considéré comme un Flop musical
